ITINERARY

DAY 1. – FOUR LAKES, PAMPAMARKA, TUNGASUKA, ACOPIA & QUESWACHACA (L)(D)

After your breakfast we will collect form your hotel to start the trip.
Four Lakes: this new ecotourism and cultural circuit offers interesting attractions, starting from Cusco’s South Valley and ascending to the high Andean plateaus, at an altitude superior to 3,600 m.a.s.l.. With four beautiful lakes, you will likely spot wild ducks, herons, gulls, migratory birds and a diversity of fish, such as trout, pickerel, and others. Of the four lakes, the Pomacanchi Lagoon is the largest and most important one.
After that, we will continue with our trip to Queswachaka, where we will make campsite close to this Bridge, with the opportunity to enjoy the sunset from here and take some photos of the stars.

DAY 2. – QUESWACHACA – CUSCO (B)(L)

After breakfast we will take the anticipated tour of this famous bridge. Queswachaca (3,600 meters above sea level) is an ancestral bridge, a clear demonstration of Incan architecture. It is built on the Apurimac River in the province of Canas. Every year, approximately 1000 villagers of Winchiri and Perccaro come together to reconstruct the bridge, using skills that have been passed down from generation to generation. The dimension of the bridge are 33 meters long and 1.20 meters wide, made of a straw material and braided. The annual reconstruction of the Qeswachaca bridge is a special four-day holiday held the second Sunday of every June.

VERIFICAR DISPONIBILIDAD

Inka Sites Adventures offer daily departures on the Inca Trail (excluding February when the trail is closed).

Since 2000 the Inca trail has been regulated by the country of Peru. This has provided many wonderful things, like clean trails and camping sites, but it has also limited the amount of people on the trail each day. Now only 500 people are permitted on the trail every morning – this includes hikers, guides, porters and cooks. If your date is not available, do not fret, there are many wonderful treks to Machu Picchu – just as beautiful as the Inca trail and not as crowded.
