Inka Sites Adventures Social Projects

For Inka Sites Adventures, one of the most important objectives of our work is that of social development and contribution to the respect and conservation of rural communities and Quechua culture, especially in those areas where there is little government assistance. We work alongside communities to develop Experiential Tours which offer unique experiences for the client to know the beautiful and unique customs, activities and lifestyle of a culture that has been long-preserved. These tours give you a chance to be close to nature, with much freedom away from the hustle and bustle of the cities and with the kindness and generosity of the native people. Social Project – Atek Cusco

ATEK: Asociacion Tawantinsuyuman Evangelioq K’ancharinanpaq is an inter-denominational Christian organization founded in 2004 by a group of Peruvian Pastors wanting to reach the Quechua people of Southern Peru. They recognized a need in rural communities for Biblical training and discipleship. It is our vision to form functional and healthy families, strong churches and Quechua communities that are organized and united. We are convinced that the Quechua people have a special purpose to fulfill in God’s perfect plan. Thus, we commit ourselves to serve God and our neighbor by contributing to the holistic and self-sustaining development of Quechua communities. This is carried out by training courses and in developing tools to support evangelism and strengthen families and communities. ATEK’s headquarters is based in Cusco, Peru. for more info visit the web site, http://www.atekperu.org/

Peru offers diversity from one end of the country to the other, with distinct cultural traditions, crafts, foods and music in each area. From the Amazon natives, to the Coastal inhabitants, to the Andean farmers; urban living to rural; Quechua to Spanish; there is so much variety in the art, dress, dance, and a plethora of “menus” (both food-wise and entertainment-wise) to become acquainted with. Inka Sites Adventures offers travel packages where you can experience the culture first-hand: – Participate in cultural events (dance, crafts, cooking, etc.) – Take part in daily community activities and projects (reforestation, agriculture, etc.) – View cultural events performed just for you and your group – Tour villages and homes as they are lived in today – Stay overnight in homes arranged just for visitors, but with the authentic cultural experience – Get to know the warm hospitality of Peruvian people who love to share their culture and lives with others – Hear about tales, legends, and history – All in a safe, intimate and comfortable arrangement with a professional guide or translator. How you are giving back: Tourism has become the country’s 3rd largest industry. By booking one of these cultural tours, you are helping support individuals and community on an economic and social level. The economy of one small village is greatly improved by tourism as a means for individual jobs and municipal income. And, the benefits pass on down the line: allowing for betterment of social programs, growing community resources, greater assets for development of infrastructures, improved education and overall health and well-being. It also encourages the community to work together, to grow from positive outside influences, and to be proud of the culture that makes them unique in the first place. Our cultural tours include half day or overnight excursions and overnight stays (offering a welcoming home-stay with generous Peruvian locals who share their culture in first-hand, meaningful experiences while giving you the private time you desire). If you are looking for a unique, simple and peaceful get-away in a place off the beaten path, your own private retreat can also be arranged for the amount of time you prefer at one of our host family homes.
